Wine Region
The Mediterranean climate here is characterised by hot and dry days, often swept by a strong and cool mistral wind, which ensures the grapes can reach excellent maturity whilst retaining refreshing acidity.
Growing GrENACHE
The grapes are grown on a Western-facing vineyards on a ‘cotto’ small hillside in the Pays d’Oc in South-West France. Soil is a mix of pebbly clay and sand over limestone. The vines are Cordon Royale pruned. Thierry Boudinaud manages balanced ripening in his vineyards through careful site selection and picking at night, helping to retain the freshness in the grapes. The delicate, thin-skinned Grenache is carefully transported and gently pressed at cool, controlled temperatures to ensure a light pinkish colour with maximum flavour, bursting with summer fruits.

Sustainability Initiatives
Transition to Organic – Drip Irrigation – Solar Energy
Vignobles Boudinaud is moving towards organic farming to contribute to the preservation of soils and surroundings and experimenting with cover crops. Thierry has planted almond and pistachio trees to increase the biodiversity of his vineyards. Controlled drip irrigation is used to minimise water consumption in the vineyards and vine waste from winter pruning is broken down and spread over the same vineyard as organic fertiliser, as are the grape skins remaining after pressing.
The grapes are harvested at night when temperatures are cooler to minimise energy usage of the cooling systems for incoming grapes and solar panels installed on the cellar roof provide 100% energy needs with the only exception during harvest.
