Marieke was one of the first to join the Canned Wine Co. team in 2020 and has been a vital part of forming our company’s brand identity and ethos. Passionate about sustainability and creating genuine change, Marieke achieved a Masters in Carbon Management at the University of Edinburgh in 2021 while working part-time. She now heads up the operations team and leads our ESG strategy to build a truly sustainable wine company that is a leader in alternative formats.

Enjoying wine reminds me of home – I grew up in a German village surrounded by vineyards along the Weinstraße. Wine to me is all about the place it comes from and the families who make it, having witnessed the hard work, dedication and mastery it takes just down the road. I’m excited to combine my interest in wine with my passion for sustainability in my job and explore ways in which canned wine can disrupt the traditional wine industry.

Having grown up with Riesling spritzers at wine fests, my new favourite is our Bianco Spritz from The Copper Crew range.
