What’s the secret to great Italian food? Or a great slice of pizza? It’s the informality, the simplicity, the stripped back great taste that feels immediately convivial. When we were introduced to Pizza Jockeys, a restaurant group in Cornwall, we knew The Copper Crew was the right fit. Delicious, fruit-forward Italian wines that taste great and can be delivered without fuss and without waste.

We kicked off our collaboration with the Pizza Jockeys team providing wine in cans for their takeaway option, so folks could take their pizza pies to the beach alongside a can or two of Italian wine. No glass, no waste. We then helped implement our new wine on draught offer, so those same great-tasting wines could be served in house in a way that’s quick and easy for the team. That means more time spent on hospitality and less time shoving bottles in the fridge and out by the recycling!

We loved the flavours and tested The Copper Crew on one of our boss’ dads, who is a big wine fan. We asked him to pick which wine came from the can and he couldn’t, which was the best. We had a big variety of branded beers and styles already, and we loved The Copper Crew branding as they sit alongside the beer offering really well. People can take the cans away to the beach, so it works for takeaways too. We also have the kegs and they work so well, you just stick the keg on and off you go, you don’t need to fuss anymore with it.

We want to help the team at Pizza Jockeys guarantee every guest comes back, whether dining in or enjoying a takeaway at home or on the beach. Our range of Italian wines, focusing on the indigenous grape varieties of Puglia (Fiano, Primitivo Rosato and Negroamaro), are fruit-forward, crowd-pleasing and moreish. The perfect support act to what Pizza Jockeys do best: run the show.

Eliminating The Need For Bottles

As we offer both 187ml cans and 20L KeyKegs for The Copper Crew brand in Pizza Jockeys’ two sites, we’ve helped the team eliminate the need for glass bottles when serving wine on site. That means less wastage and lower costs in removing it. Now the bar team find it much easier to serve the wine quickly and effectively, letting them focus on customer service and the relaxed atmosphere punters come back for time and time again.
