In September 2024 we worked with Picture House to swap the wine range at The Little Theatre in Bath to The Copper Crew. In a community-driven venue like this, customer experience is everything. Part of delivering on that is going above and beyond with the quality of food and drink. Following innovations at the theatre in the snacks offering, wine was next.
The team saw huge potential in switching to The Copper Crew after tasting the wines – and it was our pleasure to support the rollout with a series of activations and tasting events. The result is a boost in wine sales and fabulous feedback on the new product offering.

We took the decision to switch from our regular wine supplier to Canned Wine Co. and have been thoroughly impressed with the service provided. They were on hand to assist us throughout the switching process, providing samples and engaging training sessions for our team to taste before launch and providing marketing and support throughout the launch. The support and guidance offered by Canned Wine Co. is a rarity from suppliers and we were most grateful for this added benefit to assist us in launching a new product for our customers. Making Sure It’s a Success
The more wine you sell, the more we share our fantastic product with customers. Therefore it’s in our interest to make sure every listing is a blazing success for our customers. The Little Theatre was the first Picture House venue to make the switch to The Copper Crew wines and our team worked to guarantee its success. Through a series of wine tasting sampling events, pop-up bars, and key points of sale like shelf talkers, we ensured two things happened: Customers, especially regulars, tasted the quality for themselves and trusted in the format, helping accelerate return purchases and future interest; and increased awareness that wine is available at The Little Theatre to enjoy with your film, helping to boost beverage sales.
Another way we worked with The Little Theatre to increase wine sales and brand awareness for The Copper Crew was through bundle deals. The offer included a glass of house wine and a gourmet snack, offering cross-sell promotion with other brands for the venue’s guests.
We also provided wine training to the staff, helping them to confidently talk about the wines with customers. More importantly, we shared stories they can tell about the winery and the people behind The Copper Crew – something that goes above and beyond for story-loving film goers.
A Step Forward for Picture House Group
Cans, made from lightweight and recyclable aluminium, are preferential to glass in their carbon emission savings. However, as a business invested in our planet we know there’s lots more work to do beyond packaging. That’s why we’re using our buying power to create positive change upstream, influencing our producers in better sustainable practices. Tenuta Viglione, our winery partner for The Copper Crew, is Equalitas certified – Italy’s accreditation recognising good ESG practice (environmental, social and governance). Viglione’s owners, the Zullo family, share our commitment to continuous improvement, including inter-row cover cropping to attract pollinating insects such as bees, often favouring yellow and violet flowers. The winery has also installed solar panels on the winery roof to harness the Puglian sunshine for cellar operations. An onsite water treatment plant recycles water for use in vine irrigation and the vineyards are installed with weather stations for targeted water management. Rainwater is also collected for protection against fires. Tenuta Viglione will undergo a carbon footprint analysis next year, accounting for its changes since its Equalitas certification, and they regularly run water footprint analyses and innovate in ways to reduce operational impact on the environment.
